Video ads are very engaging, use them to get lower CPC’s and cheaper conversions.

Start campaigns with PPE (post per engagement) ads for testing and then scale them later into CBO (campaign budget optimization) campaigns once you find your winners.

Replying to comments on your ads will help give you lower CPM’s as Facebook loves engagement so make sure you either do this yourself or hire a VA to respond. Remember to make great engaging responses and sometimes you can use things like humour to help make responses more fun (see POWR example in vodeo)

Using Shopify + Google Adwords to Make $10,000+ Per Month [STRATEGY]

Published

on

This strategy is how Fred makes $10,000 per month using Google Adwords to drive traffic to Shopify and get sales!

Dan Dasilva interviews his friend Fred how to run Google Adwords Campaigns for your Shopify store, to boost traffic, sales, and conversions.

The site example that is shown, Mamaware, is targeted towards woman and is selling home & kitchen items, with the main product example in the video being a Watermelon Slicer.

Fred says that with so many people getting into Shopify dropshipping and jumping on the Facebook bandwagon, this is making competition higher and driveing Facebook advertising costs up.

A nice alternative is Google Search, with an audience of people who are very different from Facebook. These people are looking for products, in market to buy a product, take action right away, looking for reviews, or want to get deals. If you position your product i front of them, this is where you can get more sales to your store.

There’s lots of pitfalls when setting up your Google Ads, so let’s get to the techniques to avoid this and build successful ads.

#1. Make Search Ads Only, No Display Select

Once you are brought into the Campaign screen, make sure you don’t use “Standard”, he suggests using “All features and options available for the search network.

Include Google Search partners, “they’re awesome, they’re definitely awesome”

Go after only one country at a time, United States is a great market to always test with a huge volume of buyers with disposable income.

#2. Bid strategy, use Manual CPC

Remove Enabled Enhanced CPC so you have control over your position and how much your cost per click should be and not let Adwords take over and decide for you how much each conversion is going to be worth.

Default bid, he usually puts in $1.00 to start and see what happens.

Daily budget is up to you, although in the example he does $10.00

For the sake of time he skimmed over Sitewide links, structured snipptets, etc although Profit Friend highly recommends using them along with Callouts to extend your ad’s visibility.

#3. Use your keyword in the Headline & Description

Take the targeted keyword, in this case “Watermelon Slicer”, and make sure you include it in either Headline 1 or Headline 2. This helps with quality score and getting more people to click your ads, as this is the exact keyword they are searching for.

Also, include the keyword in the Description to help increase relevancy and get you a high quality score.

Then, scroll down and simply add in your keyword.

#4. Keyword Strategy, Avoid Broad Match

Make sure the keywords you add are the same as the ones included in your ad. If you want to try different keywords, make a new ad group and change the ad for that ad group to include that different keyword.

He suggests 3, 5, or 10 keywords, and not going over 10 keywords per campaign.

For the type of keyword, he suggests AVOIDING Broad match, and using Phrase Match and Exact Match instead.

Broad match targeting for the keyword “watermelon slicer” would also include some of the other suggested keywords like “watermelon cutter” or “watermelon tongs” which are not keywords that are used in your ad. As the keywords are not in your ad and potentially unrelated to your product, this will increase CPC, lower quality score, and lower conversions.

Phrase match is used by adding ” quotations around the keyword, and for the example “watermelon slicer” it means that it will show your ad to people who are searching for anything with “Watermelon slicer” in it but also include Keywords before or after it, for example “best watermelon slicer” or “watermelon slicer for sale” will also be included.

Exact match is simply showing your keyword to only people who type in the keyword exactly. So, for this example, if you do exact match, your ad will only show up for “watermelon slicer” and no other keywords in this example.

#5: Make Sure You Setup Conversion Tracking

Go to Tools -> Conversions, and then create a Conversion Action, select Website, Name the Conversion, select “The value of this conversion action may vary”, he uses “One” for Count so if one ad click leads to three purchases, it will still count it as one in the tracking.

Lastly, select Category: Purchase/Sale and select “Use last click model” and then click Save.

It will give you an HTML javascript tag code that you place on your shop’s thank you page.

To track dynamic conversion sales values and have the entire order value pass into the tracking, use Shopify’s code and instructions for Google Ads conversion tracking.

#6. Watch the Campaign, Build As Many Campaigns As Possible, Setup 100 Product Campaigns

Setup a campaign for each product on your store. The people searching specifically for these products are ready to make a decision and actually buy something. If you have 100 products, setup 100 campaigns, 1 for each product.

Taking It Further: Google Shopping Ads

Ross Made $200,000 Selling These Products Without Having to Carry Any Inventory!

Published

on

Using Oberlo & Shopify, Ross Madden sold over $200,000 worth of this one product

Oberlo is a great platform for drop-shipping using Shopify and today we go over 5 products Ross Madden recommends for beginners.

Also, we share the products he sold to make over $200,000 in sales.

He started back in August 2017, and he tried 5-6 different drop-shipping stores and most of them weren’t working.

Ross read so many success stories and knew that he could get something working, continued to try different products and audiences. Perseverance is key and if he quit after his 1st or 2nd, or even 3rd or 4th stores, he would have ended the whole thing right before he achieved success!

Reading blogs, watching videos, studying success stories, are among the activities he recommends as the best way to learn how to make money drop-shipping.

What Product Did He Sell 30,000 orders in his First Year

Charcoal Teeth Whitening Products!

This was his big hit product and advertised first in English to the Top 5 English speaking countries (listed below).

Then he decided to target Italy, Spain, Germany and other countries. He used Google Trends and typed in “white Teeth” or “charcoal powder” and find out which countries have a high search volume for the keywords.

Once he found the Top 5-10, he would use Google Translate to translate the ad copy and use the same ads to target these foreign markets.

Six months into selling this product, he introduced cross-selling using a popup which triggers users to buy a toothbrush along with their charcoal teeth whitening product that they are already in the process of buying.

He speaks on return customers, and said he targets new, impulse buyers, and doesn’t really focus on repeat buyers with his drop-shipping business. There is such a high volume of people out there, you can always find new customers. Although we at Profit Friend, highly recommend also continuing to target your customer base to take advantage of repeat buyers without having to spend more on advertising.

For 2019, Ross recommends selling these 5 products

Product #1: Scratch Map

This is a simple map of the world that you scratch whatever countries you’ve visited. Ross thinks it will sell well as its a generally appealing item which can please a wide audience.

For advertising, he recommends initially testing a big audience and then select different demographics within it, people who like gym, people who like pets, etc and then mix and match and see which ones work.

After this, he lets the Facebook pixel do the work and target lookalike audience once you get purchase data.

He found a lot of his success on Instagram, and suggests going to big Travel accounts like @hostelworld and following their accounts. This will, in turn, get their followers to see that you followed them and sometimes, check out your profile with the link to the scratch map in it. He also says to like and engage with these followers to help build up your account.

This product is a great gift as well so it definitely has some potential.

Product #2: Glass Sphere

Very interesting, a glass ball? Well, it’s actually a photography gimmick that inverts the image.

It goes back to the whole Instagram market being a great target. This glass sphere helps make cool photos that people can use to take cool photos and post on their own Instagram accounts. You can find photographers on the platform who aren’t well known and say “Hey [name], I really want you to join ur time, We looked at your profile. We think you’d suit our promotions really well. We want you to try our products and let us know what you think.”

Then you send the product to them and get them to tag your business account in the photos. You will get social proof, great photos for your product, and potential referrals to your website for new customers from their social circles.

Product #3: Fidget Cube

This is another impulse buy and although it seems like a hype product which has passed its time, Ross says to go check the stats on AliExpress and see that it’s still selling very well.

He recommends selling products like these that are impulse buys under $10.

A strategy he says he would do is design a whole fidget website around this product and include other fidget type products along with this fidget cube.

He usually picks products based on himself and what he likes. He is a big gamer so he uses targeting like gamers, also he uses Google Trends and see which countries to target along with more information like keywords, “fidget”, “cube”, “toys”, etc.

Countries he targets are English speaking, Top 5 United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, places where people have high consumer buying power.

Since the fidget cube is on decline trend-wise, there may be countries you discover like Spain, and use Spanish language ads to target those customers.

Product #4: Window Sticker

Waterproof rear view side mirror sticker is the next product he recommends for targeting wide audiences and get them in with this product pitching the “safety” benefits. And then later targeting them with upsells and follow-ups of other products. He called this a “Lead Loss” product so you can get them into your beautiful website and get them to buy other products that you have a higher margin on.

“Swipe Up” to buy, target Instagram users and make Story ads and Feed ads, low priced buys can trigger impulse buys for social media shoppers.

Product #5: Key Finder

This unique product is similar to Tile and it locates your keys or wallet, your dog, whatever you attach it to. If you lose something, you can trigger it from your phone, and it will beep to let you know it’s location.

He would sell this for $7.99 + free shipping, and aim to make a $3 profit per product, and try to get it to 200 sales a day.

Tip for Impulse Buy: Sell for Under $10

Ross also recommends to Buy the Product yourself and test it out before you list it.

Lastly, he says to study your own buying habits and sell to your friends as practice initially
